The Challenge
To ensure resource supply according to their needs the school based soft copies of paper resources on their office desktops; these resources were then printed as and when required through 4 MFD devices. Although the needs of paper based resources were met it was an incomplete function as these four devices were competing ones that took long amounts of time to set up and run as they were from two different vendors, the production capacity was irregular and underpowered, quality and constancy of output was irregular, the devices lacked finishing components and to top it all the school was compelled to outsource the printed materials elsewhere to be bound into books, it took approximately 3 days for 100 books to be bound.
All these barriers led to time delays, inefficiency in work, increase in running costs, decrease in productivity of manpower and overall disruption of the school’s entire workflow.
The Solution
To ensure a re-haul of their printing processes the school chose CMYK, experienced experts and dealers in Xerox’s digital printing solutions and top-notch technology to help the school satisfy three goals: owning more versatile in house printing technology, increasing the speed of its current printing processes and boosting its printing capacity all of which would save the school’s money, time and make their workflow more productive.

CMYK chose the excellent Xerox® V180 and proposed to install it along with the finishing components in the Print Room, to satisfy the school’s binding and laminating needs a binding and lamination machine from Afra, champion binding solutions providers was also in sourced.
The V180 achieved a new standard of image quality, delivering four times more pixels than other presses while still printing at blazing fast speeds. It was a winning combination of technologies, including the Xerox® EA Toner, 2400 x 2400 dpi with 10-bit RIP and an advanced Compact Belt Fuser that provided the right amount of consistent heat and pressure for a given stock.
Every job was rendered with attentive detail, crispness and clarity from first print to last; its MF properties included folding A3 sheets into A4; 100 books could be printed within a day; all soft copies could be stored in the device’s server; it was user agnostic due to its user friendly features overall increasing efficiency, quality and total workflow of the school.
The Result
The partnership between TNG and CMYK exceeded the school’s expectations by miles. The school boosted its operations productivity and decreased process duration by more than 75%. The multi-function V180 also made workflow easier and kept accurate records of resources and materials used during the printing process. The new Xerox Versant180 also enabled the school to meet short deadlines faster and with higher quality. The added benefit comes from the school’s outlook of expanding their student base and putting the device through its paces.
The school was also very happy with service quality provided by the engineers. The Next Generation School could now meet tight deadlines or turnaround projects without delay ensuring a smooth running academic quarter in the future.
